Study of alternatives
Our Study of alternatives contemplates the following aspects:
- When not predefined, analysis of location alternatives.
- Dimensioning: processes, warehouses.
- Floor plan / layout options.
- Study of construction options.
- Study of facility options.
- Study of technological options for equipment: production processes, end of line and order preparation, storage, auxiliary systems.
- Budget estimation and preliminary planning of each alternative.
- The analysis and evaluation of alternatives considers not only their technical and technological aspects, but also the cost of investment, operating costs, flexibility and other advantages and disadvantages of each option.
- Proposal and selection of the best alternative, being the client.
Profitability and economic viability study
We developed the following contents, based on our own methodology, proven by experience:
- P&L account parameterized of the situation before and after the investment, for the Base Hypothesis.
- Profitability analysis of the Base Hypothesis based on usual parameters: NPV, IRR, amortization period/ pay – back, etc.
- Determination of the balance point of the Project, in terms of minimum productive level, for concrete values of other variables.
- Sensitivity study of the profitability of different hypotheses or scenarios against different variables: cost of raw materials, sales prices, productivity improvements, etc.
- Parameterization allows our Studies to be useful also “a posteriori”, once the Project has been implemented, to monitor the results of the investment and compare them with those expected.
General Project Definition
Once the best alternative has been selected, the solution must be further developed to a level equivalent to a good draft, with the following aspects:
- Review and development of sizing: processes, warehouses.
- Development of plant distribution / layout, through plans with progressive detail.
- Planning of the aesthetic solution of the building, counting on 3D and photorealistic rendering, whenever possible.
- Development of constructive solution.
- Development of a technical and technological solution for the installations, based on energy optimization and viability of renewables, estimating preliminary energy consumption, etc.
- Development of technological solutions for process and auxiliary equipment and machinery.
- Development of budget estimation and project planning.
