Presentation of the Strategic Innovation Agenda for the Wine Industry 2021-2024
Last May, the Wine Technology Platform (PTV) presented the new Strategic Innovation Agenda for the Wine Industry 2021-2024. A reference document for this industry that contains the main challenges and objectives to be addressed in terms of R&D&I.
Since its birth in 2011, the PTV has been linked to artica+i, which acts as the technical secretariat of the association, participating directly in its management, coordination and work strategy. Since then, the AEI 2021-2024has undergone three updates, all of them with the institutional backing of the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
With this new delivery, the PTV continues to promote innovation as an essential way to improve the competitiveness of Spanish wines and conveys a unified message about the most immediate scientific-technical needs to improve the positioning, differentiation and profitability of our wine sector.
A large part of the wine sector and the scientific community -both national and international- have been part of the renewal process of the AEI 2021-2024, which has lasted just over a year. A path in which the Technical Commission of the PTV and the Spanish Wine Interprofessional Organisation (OIVE) have been particularly involved, an entity with which the PTV has been collaborating since 2018 through a joint action plan for the promotion of R&D&I in the national wine sector, in addition to the Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OeMV), the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV), the Foundation for Wine and Nutrition Research (FIVIN) or CaixaBank through its AgroBank business line.
As a result, the wine sector now has a guide that includes the main scientific and technical challenges that the sector must address in the coming years and which will form the basis for the development of future R&D&I projects. A total of 28 strategic lines grouped into 6 areas of interest covering the entire wine value chain: Viticulture, Process, Product, Sustainability and Climate Change, Health and Wine Economy.
In this sense, artica+i plays a key role, not only because of its role as Technical Secretariat of the PTV , but also because of its extensive experience in the management of R&D&I projects – both national and international – developed in the wine sector. The sum of both factors makes the consultancy firm a key ally for the promotion of strategic projects for the sector as a whole, providing value in the formation of consortia, design and presentation of applications and, subsequently, in the management and technical and economic monitoring of the projects.
