Torres Quevedo 2021 call for proposals published
The State Research Agency, part of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, has published the 2021 call for applications for the Torres Quevedo grant. Through this aid, companies and technology and technological innovation support centres can apply for funding to hire PhDs to undertake R&D projects with a total duration of 3 years.
This aid, which is part of the State Programme for the Promotion of Talent and its Employability in R&D&I, has a budget of 15 million euros that the AEI will grant in the form of non-refundable subsidies on a competitive basis.
The direct beneficiaries of Torres Quevedo 2021 will be companies, technological research support centres (state-wide), business associations and science and technology parks, and may submit their applications between 2 and 23 February 2022.
Only the costs corresponding to the salary and the employer’s social security contributions of the PhD researchers hired on an indefinite full-time basis will be eligible for funding. Furthermore, they must be hired after 16 February 2022 and no later than 20 days after the award decision. The intensity of the aid will vary between 25% and 70% of the salary cost, with a maximum budget of €55,000 per year and a minimum gross salary of €23,000.
The grants must have an incentive effect, so it will be necessary to justify that the R&D activities carried out by the Doctor are additional to the normal activity of the company prior to their recruitment.
Our team of professionals in the area of national project funding is available to companies and technology centres to provide support in the application process, justification and administrative management of this type of aid.
