Project title:“Study and technological improvement of the traditional processes of elaboration of cava to increase its qualities, boosting the competitiveness and positioning of the product in international markets”.

Acronym: CAVAWINNER

Goal: Improve the competitiveness and positioning of Spanish cava compared to other international sparkling wines, through research and the incorporation of technologies to its traditional elaboration system, with the aim of reducing costs of production and improve the quality of the final product, adapting it to the tastes of the international consumer.

The consortium is made up of eight business partners, some of the most important cavas and companies in the production and auxiliary sectors of our country are present. Led by González Byass, through its Vilarnau winery, it also has the participation of other Catalans, Valencians, Rioja and Aragonese cavers: Bodegas Bilbaínas, Juve&Camps, Gramona, Dominio de la Vega y Bodega San Valero.
