The wine sector debates on Innovation, with the participation of artica+i
Once again, the Wine Technology Platform has convened its associates to discuss the most immediate future of innovation in the wine sector. We are talking about the annual meetings of the PTV’s R&D&I Groups, in which artica+i has actively participated in order to offer its experience in the management of R&D&I projects in the wine industry to the rest of the associates.
The aim of these meetings is to review the lines of the Strategic Wine Innovation Agenda already underway, as well as the promotion of new proposals that will lead to future collaborative R&D&I projects.
The groups are structured in 6 areas to cover the entire value chain of the sector: Viticulture, Process, Product, Sustainability and Climate Change, Health and Wine Economy. A 360º vision of wine innovation that allows an approach to the scientific-technical challenges of the industry, always from a common perspective and thanks to the combined efforts of the business and scientific enviroment.
In this forum, which brings together the leading companies, wineries and research groups in the wine sector in innovation, artica+i could not miss the opportunity to contribute with its extensive experience in the sector, with numerous cases of success in the technical, economic and administrative management of large consortium projects such as GLOBALVITI, VINYSOST or CAVAWINNER.
The R&D&I groups in 2021 have focused on topics as minimising the effects of vine pests and diseases and new technologies for managing the crop, in the Viticulture area, as well as improving knowledge of oenological biotechnology, in the Process area, and new strategies for adapting wine to the market, in the Product area.
Sustainability and Climate Change has focused on the optimisation of inputs and waste, as well as on strategies to struggle climate change, while the Health area will try to boost R&D&I projects aimed at promoting responsible and moderate consumption, as well as contributing to the production of low-alcohol or alcohol-free wines.
Finally, the Wine Economy area will focus its efforts on improving market knowledge and consumption trends through innovation.
