Focal 2021 aid to boost the agri-food industry in La Mancha
On 27 July, the Agriculture, Water and Rural Development department of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha published the 2021 call for applications for aid for investment in the processing, marketing or development of agricultural products and the promotion of agri-food quality (Focal 2021), within the framework of the Castilla-La Mancha Rural Development Programme 2014-2020.
This grant is intended for investment projects in the processing and marketing of agricultural products, which lead to an improvement in the quality and competitiveness of the agri-food industry in the region of Castilla-La Mancha.
With a budget of €700,000, Focal 2021 is 75% co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), with the remaining 25% co-financed 30% by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and 70% by the Regional Agriculture, Water and Rural Development department of Castilla-La Mancha.
Applications may be submitted until 2 November 2021 by those individuals or legal entities that own agri-food industries located in Castilla-La Mancha and engaged in the processing and/or marketing of agricultural products interested in the grant.

FAVOURABLE ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
- Final production covered by agri-food or organic quality figures.
- New installation in the region.
- Project developed in rural areas or ITI (Integrated Territorial Investment) areas of Castilla-La Mancha.
- Type of investments and objectives of the project: improvement of energy efficiency, use of renewable energies exclusively for own consumption, waste management, purification of liquid effluents, minimisation of environmental impact, marketing processes, etc.
- Job creation (in the establishment that is the object of the investment).
- Innovative pilot project promoted by cooperation between agents.
ELIGIBLE INVESTMENTS
- Construction, acquisition or improvement of real estate, except land purchase.
- Purchase of new machinery and equipment.
- General costs linked to the above (fees of engineers, consultants, feasibility studies, etc.).
- Intangible investments, such as the acquisition or development of computer software and the acquisition of patents, licences, copyrights and trademarks.
