These are the main agri-food events on the return of summer
After the summer break, the agri-food sector will be back at the main international events in the sector in September and October. Istanbul, Barcelona, Malaga and Madrid will be some of the main cities hosting the most important shows in the field of food and beverage innovation, focusing mainly on the fruit and vegetable, frozen seafood and new digital technologies applied to the agri-food industry.
WORLDFOOD ISTANBUL 2023
WorldFood Istanbul is the most successful international trade fair for food, beverages and food processing technologies in Turkey. For more than 30 years, the event has attracted more than 360 food producers to converge on Istanbul to meet, negotiate and trade with buyers from the international food industry.
It is the ideal meeting point for companies from all over the world to explore the Turkish food sector, establish contacts with leading industry figures and buyers, and promote their products in this market.
During the last 2022 edition of WorldFood Istanbul, the event was attended by 835 exhibitors and more than 38,000 visitors from 163 countries, according to official figures from the fair.

FOODTECH FOOD
From 26 to 29 September, Fira de Barcelona will host this benchmark event for the food and beverage industry’s technology, equipment and ingredients sector. Innovation and solutions for all production stages of the food industry will be present at the next edition of Alimentaria FoodTech: processing, ingredients, packaging, industry 4.0, food safety, refrigeration, handling, logistics and other ancillary services).
The main objective of this event is to boost the competitiveness of companies and respond to the main challenges facing the sector: automation, digitalisation, sustainability and the safety and hygiene of production processes.
The show organisers anticipate around 350 exhibiting companies and, by sector, expect the most represented to be: food and beverage processing, industry 4.0 and auxiliary services (65%); followed by packaging, refrigeration, handling and storage (15%), ingredients (13%) and food safety.

SMART AGRIFOOD SUMMIT
The Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga will host the sixth edition of Startup Europe Smart Agrifood Summit on 28th and 29th September. This is an international benchmark event in the agri-food sector and a face-to-face and virtual meeting point to increase and promote funding and internationalisation channels for the industry, as well as to publicise new products, services and innovative projects.
The event aims to improve the competitiveness of European agriculture and agribusiness through the promotion of innovative companies and internationalisation. CONXEMAR 2023
The Instituto Ferial de Vigo (IFEVI) will open its doors from 3 to 5 October to welcome the 24th edition of the CONXEMAR Fair, an international meeting that annually brings together professionals from the frozen seafood sector.

Thirty leading scientists from across Europe, North America, South Africa and Australia will present the latest research on diet, healthy lifestyle and moderate wine consumption.
Organised by the Foundation for Wine and Nutrition Research (FIVIN) and the Wine Information Council (WIC), this congress will be the most important international scientific event on lifestyle, diet, wine and health issues in the last five years.
The scientific programme will include presentations on the Global Burden of Disease Study, Cardiovascular Health, Health Implications of Lifestyle Choices, the Importance of Context when consuming wine in moderation, Keys to Longevity and Translating Science into Society.
