February 2022: the return of face-to-face fairs and congresses
2022 looks set to be the year of recovery and the return of face-to-face trade fairs and congresses. The agri-food sector is joining this trend and already has four essential events for its economic recovery and commercial boost at national and international level that will be held during the month of February 2022: the Hospitality Innovation Show, Wine Paris & Vinexpo, Foro Transfiere and the INTERSICOP 2022 trade fair.
The return of presence at trade fairs and congresses in the agri-food sector
With our sights set on economic recovery and a return to normality, the year 2022 looks set to be the year of the return to face-to-face attendance at trade fairs, congresses and key events in the agri-food sector.
Although the current situation is still very much marked by Covid-19, this February is already being perceived as a new horizon thanks to the timid recovery and the start of the sixth wave. All the trade fairs and venues dedicated to major events in the agri-food industry are working tirelessly to recover the pace of activity prior to the health crisis, focusing their efforts on the on-site programming of their congresses and trade fairs.
This return to face-to-face attendance and the recovery of the main face-to-face events has become essential as a factor for business dynamism and economic reactivation.
As a technology and R&D&I project financing business consultancy, we monitor the essential events for the agri-food industry, a strategic sector for the development of our activity. The main events taking place this February 2022 are summarised below.
HOTEL INDUSTRY INNOVATION SHOW
The Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga will host, from 7 to 9 February, the 24th edition of H&T, Salón de Innovación en Hostelería. A professional meeting point for companies in the HORECA channel, the tourism industry and gastronomy, where equipment, services, food and beverages for restaurants and hotels will be on display.
Tourism industry R&D&I projects
In addition, after the success of last year’s 2021 edition, H&T Innova is back this year to highlight the value of the tourism industry’s R&D&I ecosystem, addressing relevant topics such as digital transformation, sustainability and internationalisation.
All this, accompanied by an interesting parallel programme of thematic panels and conferences given by leading experts, which will address topics such as sustainable innovation as the basis for the future of tourism, the integrated management of destinations and new tourist profiles or hotel sustainability to be more competitive, among others.

WINE PARIS & VINEXPO
Wine Paris & Vinexpo 2022 is the first international event in 2022 dedicated to northern wines, with the aim of offering a new international market place for these wines.
For three days, from 14 to 16 February, more than 2,800 exhibitors will gather in Paris to present their latest vintages, flagship products and new products. The event will bring together all of France’s wine-growing regions and a wide range of international wineries from more than 20 countries.
With all the necessary health and safety measures in place, the fair will be held in person with an extensive programme designed to offer all professionals an optimised physical experience with numerous master classes and qualitative tastings, talks by experts and inspirational personalities as well as themed areas such as Be Spirits for spirits and mixology, Wine Tech Perspectives highlighting the latest innovations and digitalisation initiatives in the sector and La Nouvelle Vague promoting young winemakers and talents.

TRANSFIERE – EUROPEAN FORUM FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
The eleventh edition of the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, Transfiere, will be held, once again, at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA).
Technological projects, R&D&I and innovation
The meeting will take place on 16 and 17 February and has already become a benchmark meeting for R&D&I in southern Europe. It aims to share scientific and technological knowledge, promote innovation and connect science and business.
This year 2022, the content programme of the Transfiere Forum will focus on the funding opportunities offered by European funds through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The aim is to raise the profile of R&D&I, digital transformation and ecological transition projects, as well as to promote gender equality within the scientific and innovative ecosystems.

INTERSICOP 2022, INTERNATIONAL SALON OF BAKERY, PASTRY, ICE CREAM AND COFFEE
From 19 to 22 February, the professional event for the bakery, patisserie, ice cream, coffee and equipment industry will also be back. The Madrid trade fair, IFEMA, will be the setting for boosting the positioning, development, growth and visibility of the sector.
InterSICOP 2022, the International Bakery, Confectionery, Ice Cream and Coffee Show, will have a large exhibition area and has organised a very comprehensive programme of activities, consisting of a series of conferences, forums, debates, live practical demonstrations, championships, technical seminars, etc.
The show is aimed at a professional public from the sectors of artisan and industrial bakery and pastry, artisan and industrial ice cream, hotels and catering chains, baristas and catering professionals, hotels, food service and collectivities, manufacturers and industry, production, quality, equipment, distributors, wholesalers, etc.
