A step closer to our Galician clients
Our new headquarters in Santiago de Compostela will allow us to bring our Engineering and Innovation Consultancy services specialising in the agri-food sector to clients in Galicia and the north of Portugal.
We take another step forward in our national expansion strategy by boosting our presence in Galicia, a key Autonomous Community for the development of our activity due to the enormous potential of its agri-food sector.
We opened our office in the WITLAND Business Centre in Santiago de Compostela to bring our Engineering and Innovation Consultancy services closer to our Galician clients. Services that, although already being developed for more than two decades, will be enhanced thanks to the important socio-economic and industrial development that this region is experiencing, especially in its agri-food sector.
With a GDP of €59,105 million, Galicia is Spain’s sixth largest economy in terms of GDP. Moreover, the technological potential of Galician agri-food companies is particularly noteworthy, as is the intense commercial activity between this region and northern Portugal. All this, together with the new communication infrastructures, such as the recent arrival of the AVE high-speed train to Orense last December, means that we consider this new headquarters to be strategic, as it opens up great commercial possibilities.
This new Galician headquarters will only reinforce the relationship we have built up over more than two decades with customers in the wine, dairy, meat, canning and, of course, logistics platform sectors. It is also worth highlighting the important innovative activity in the region, which we have had the privilege of witnessing thanks to the promotion of collaborative R&D&I projects such as AGROMARSALUD and BIOFUNCIOGAL, which highlighted the value of the traditional Galician (Atlantic) diet and its health benefits, INNTERWINARGAL, thanks to which biotechnology was applied to obtain new aromatised wines from traditional Galician grape varieties, INNTERGALENO, to improve the viticultural potential of Galician varieties or GESTIREDOX, a project that, through proper oxygen management, sought to guarantee the quality of the wine and increase its consumption period.
We also maintain a close relationship with leading Galician technology and research centres at a national level, with which we promote numerous public-private collaboration initiatives. Such is the case of the University of Vigo, the University of Santiago de Compostela, Anfaco, the Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas-CSIC or the Misión Biológica de Galicia-CSIC, a centre with which we are working to boost the Alcinder Platform to support technological development in rural areas of Galicia, Asturias and the north of the province of León.
With the aim of strengthening our presence in Galicia, we have recently signed a collaboration agreement with FoodTec, a technology consultancy company specialising in the dairy sector. This agreement establishes the framework of commercial and technical collaboration for the provision of engineering services and strategic, technological and integral consultancy for R&D&I projects.
This new office in Galicia joins the offices in Madrid and Valencia to continue turning our clients’ ideas into profitable projects, processes or services through the provision of professional services in the field of Engineering and Consultancy for R&D&I Management.
