The MaízSostenible Operational Group advances in its work plan with the participation of artica+i
With the aim of improving the environmental sustainability and profitability of corn cultivation, the MaízSostenible Operational Group innovation project has been launched, which will run until the beginning of 2023 with Vertex Bionergy as the promoter and representative of this initiative.
MaízSostenible is also supported by the services of our consultancy firm, artica+i. In this way, our National Project Financing department is responsible for the monitoring and economic-administrative justification of the project, while the Innovation Communication department is involved in the development and execution of a powerful communication strategy to publicise the project and its progress.
This project is expected to boost the sustainability and profitability of corn cultivation in Spain through the application of digital technologies and tools, which will help to accurately determine the carbon footprint of these crops in order to promote the first national certification of sustainable corn production in our country.
This innovative initiative involves the participation of the University of Seville (Smart Biosystems Lab Research Group), the Agrarian Technology Institute of Castilla y León (TACyL), Corteva Agriscience, TimacAGRO Spain, Control Union WG Spain (CU Spain), Grupo AN, Artica Ingeniería e Innovación (artica+i), the Centre for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (CIEMAT), the Spanish Bioethanol Association (BIO-E) and the Spanish Confederation of Compound Feed Manufacturers (CESFAC).
For its implementation, MaízSostenible has a budget of 538,155€ co-financed 80% by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) of the European Union and 20% by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), within the framework of the National Rural Development Programme 2014-2020.
Our experience in Operational Groups
There have been three calls for subsidies for innovative projects of general interest to be carried out by Operational Groups called by the MAPA and three projects in which we have participated directly.
In this way, (GO)MaízSostenible joins the GOPHYTOVID and GOVALMAVIN projects in which our Innovation Consultancy unit has been involved in their technical, economic and administrative management, as well as in the coordination and execution of their communication plans.
From artica+i we offer our clients the experience gained in this call and encourage them to present their innovative initiatives with the support of our professionals.
